usb problem

hi,
I have got a mouse with USB plug. When I plug into USB port it doesn't work...When I plug into normal port with a normal mouse it works fine...
My laptop has Win Xp pro installed...
pliz help me to connect my mouse from USB port.
 
Normal meaning PS2?

Is USB enabled? Any other USB devices work? Check bios for usb (highspeed/fullspeed) - maybe manual for "legacy usb" device.

yeah dude...actually USB was disable....now it is enable and when I connect my camera it shows disc mode on my camera.....it was showing new hardware found and ready to use. But it doesn't show anything on my laptop....do i have to install any usb driver..?...but i already installed camera driver.....pliz pliz help me...
