Well i've had usb problems for a while and I have done tons of googles, followed so many different steps to attempt to fix it and still have no luck. I think i narrowed it down to the problem but dont kno how to go around fixing it.

As i said my usb's werent working for a while so i went out to get a usb pci card. And everything worked great. Got it to work just fine. Then I attempted to download a program to install ringtones to my nextel phone called Webjal. theres a website http://www.harrythompson.com that has an exe file that installs 5 parts of the program including usb drivers. Now after I installed these USB drivers. My usbs totally stoped working. Pretty frustrated. I uninstalled the Webjal program but have no idea how to uninstall the USB driver.

P.S. ive tried to unistall the USB's from device manager, and restarting but i was only able to uninstall 3 out 6.. The USB Root Hub.. Everytime i try uninstalling Standard OpenHCD USB Host COntroller(2) and Standard Enhanced PCI to USB host controller. I lock up. Also there are no Yellow ! under USB

Motherboard - Gigabyte - GA-8TRX330-L
PCI Card - ADS Tech Turbo 2.0 USB PCI/Cardbus Ver. 1.2

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks again

these are the files windows need to run USB devices
disk.inf, disk.pnf, usb.inf, usb.pnf, usbprint.inf, usbprint.pnf, usbstor.inf, isbprint.pnf, usbstor.sys

these files are in the INF folder

Yes a disk did come with the PCI card but when I try to install it, says i dont need to because I have service patch 1 installed.

Yeah, ive already looked into USB drivers for motherboards and saw same thing. getting frustrated hehe.

Also, those files u mentioned.. is there anywhere i can redownload them? Maybe theyre corrupt?

If they are corrupt (and they very well may be), then the best way to get everything back in working order would be to do a reinstall of Windows.

An "install to repair" would be far better then a full reinstallation. You could easily repair the current copy of Windows and not have any need to reinstall everything else when a full installation deletes the Windows, docs+settings, and Program Files directories. With that done you would simply download the latest updates for audio if you use onboard sound, Lan, and SATA controllers.

The usb drivers would have to come from the board's own cd since Gigabyte seems to have those out at theiir support site. You may have to contact their support staff just to get a link. When first looking to find the correct support page the "you are not authorized" message came up a few times. Asus and MSI keep their driver updates where you can find them at least. The repair install instructions are best outlined at http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Hi,

The diode(cylinder shaped object) broke off my USB this morning and as a result wont work! Does anyone know if it can be reattached/a new one be attached? All my college work is on this so if anyone has any advice on what to do I would be extreemly greatful!
