USB Question!!

i have a desktop computer that i had laying around for 4-5 years now has windows xp on it and now im taking to my girlfriends apartment to use and i had problems with my usb ports before got it fixed a long time ago and now they dont work i checked in device manager says there working fine and check the bois said there enabled and i tryed plugging my mp3 player in to check one more time nothing turned on so i dont know whats wrong i think i need new ones?

Try uninstalling all usb entries in device manager then reboot and let windows reinstall the drivers for them. However, sometimes windows becomes corrupted to where only a fresh install will fix it.

i just reinstalled windows 2 days ago and still nothing no power to them

Check all your usb cables going to the usb headers on the motherboard. Are you using the usb ports on the front of the case or the ones on the back or both? If all ports are dead then you have a bad motherboard.

ok i will check it tommorrow morning have it at my girlfriends apartment and i use the backs the fronts never worked
