USB to USB networking

Hi all,

I bought myself a Sitecom USB to USB networking cable and seem to be having all sorts of troubles getting it to work.

I am running winxp pro on my laptop and win2000 pro on my desktop.

Anyways, I loaded the software rebooted and put in the cable and then installed the cable, on both machines.

When I connect the cable to both machines at the same time they do not show up in the networks.

I've made sure that both are connected to the "Workgroup" workgroup and have different computer names.

What am I doing wrong?

Another thing I noticed is that when I load the software onto my laptop it boots into Winxp ok but then takes a while to recognise the disk drives and other things in My computer.


Has anyone experience these problems or heard how to fix them?

Does it support USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 on the same network? Your XP machine is probably USB 2.0 and the laptop, USB 1.1

Try updating your drivers from Sitecom's Site - http://www.sitecom.com/

computerdude2004 thanks for your input, the instructions that came with the cable actually led me in the wrong direction.

I followed the install instructions from the website and no problems at all.
