Usb - Unknown Device - Help?!?!?!

So like the title says, I have been using a 7 port USB hub for over a year now. Yesterday, I unplugged a flash drive, and now all of my usb ports on the computer read UNKNOWN DEVICE whenever I plug anything in such as my printer, usb hub, flash drives, and so on. Nothing is working. Not sure even where to locate a driver. Its an old Cicero computer I've had for about 8 years.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as all of my storage is on an external H/D lol

I'm thinkin about just picking up a PCI USB card on the way to work, Tigerdirect and CanadaComputers have some for under $20 which might be what I'm lookin for, and they are 2.0, right now I only have 1.1
