USB won't recognise anything

So moved the server/HTPC into a new room and went to turn it on but nothing, tried different screens etc then ended up stripping it apart, cleaning it, putting it back together and flashing the bios. All running good just had to redo all my settings in the bios. but now when I try to plug any USB devices into the mobo nothing happens. Have checked the bios and they are enabled, checked device manager and all running ok and no driver updates.
Is running Windows XP, USB's work fine on the other computers.

In device manager, right click on all usb ports and delete. They will reinstall automatically (you may need internet for some), and then work.

The only option I have is for 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'
Uner that there is 'Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller', 'Standard OpenHCD host Controller' and 2 'USB Root Hub'
Are these the ones you mean?

Sweet thanks. Done that and it recognized one device, plugged in another and it dropped off again so re did it and now both seem to be working. It's just very slow.

Update windows and go to your motherboard manufacturer and ensure you have the latest BIOS, and USB drivers for your machine.

Have now turned it on again today and same problems have reared their ugly head. USB unrecognized and no HDMI output from the graphics card but the VGA from it works fine. Updated the bios and USB drivers.
Thinking possibly the motherboard is on its way out?
