WHile I was trying to plug in my USB in the inside my friend's PC That is running win 98, the win have told me that it needs the driver for that flash memory? the flash doesn't contain the model and the type of it />
so is there any recommendation?
thanks

All I can suggest is try to find the info on the device using a machine with 2000/XP. Sometimes you'll get what device it is when you first plug it in. Then just look for drivers according to that info...?

your flashdrive should have came with a cd that contains the drivers for windows 98 and such. if not, go on the brand's website and try to look for downloads or drivers, then download the driver and get it onto the win 98 computer.

okay thanks
For the_Other_One: how could I search for the drivers on my 2000 or XP when I plugg in it?
for liuliuboy, the usb doesn't have a CD shipped with it, and I don't know the site for it!
and for Ku-sama: I don't have an internet connection at home, and what do u mean by drivers and windows update?
thanks for supporting

Plug the drive into a Windows 2000/XP machine. This will tell you the manufacturer of the drive. (Either look in device manager or the safely remove hardware option if you can't find it). Once you know the manufacturer, go to their website and download the Windows 98 driver.

I think it's a one-driver-for-all type thing. Try downloading a driver form a place like Seagate. I am more or less sure that it's just a USB Mass Storage driver. Just make sure to put the USB drive in the same usb port each time you put it in.

There is a Generic USB Mass Storage Device Driver for Windows 98. You can download it from here:

www.technical-assistance.co.uk/kb/usbmsd98.html

This will allow flash drives, USB hard drives and many USB cameras to work in Windows 98. Microsoft did not write drivers for USB Mass Storage Devices for Windows 98, so they do not work as standard. Installing these drivers will allow it to work just like in Windows XP.
