usb2.0 storage not recognised

when i plugged in a USB 2.0 removable storage device 'my computer' where it displays removable drivers wont recognise it. why?

does windows xp recognize it at all and just doesnt show it? if thats the case..if you have tweak xp the drive letter might be checked off to be hidden.

Which drivers? For what? All removeable devices show this (by default)
