Hi!

I have a new harddrive. Can I use it on my lap when I'm sitting in a bus even though it's not always in a horizontal position? Or are such things only possible with SSDs?

lol I think the hard drive would be the least of his worries there

Hard drives are fine at whatever angle so long as you don't drop it or let it hit anything, the platters are fragile and usually can withstand knocks, but I wouldn't risk it...

well there is not only horizontal and vertical. However I live approx. in the middle of Germany which might explain a range of questions on your side
