Use SDRAM instead of DIMMs?

well i have a crappy old compaq that i use for internet and i was wondering if i can replace my 256mb of 2 128mb 184 pin-DIMMs with 2 256mb 184 pin SDRAMs I was wondering if this would work.... Im thinking no and ill probally have to find 2 256 DIMMs, but just asking seeing as this would save me a few bucks.

Unless one of those sets of RAM is RDRAM then you can. DIMM just means dual inline memory module.
