My desktop units SATA hard drive one day was completely unresponsive. I mean absolutely nothing is there. Its like theres nothing at all is hooked up there.
I have a SATA drive from my old laptop i want to use in the desk unit. Nothing wrong with this drive and it plugs right up to the exsisting connections. I had been useing it as extra storage so it was completely formatted.
Now i need to install win 7 home on the new drive. I have a copy of win 7 OS but have no idea how to install it. The copy was sent to me by a friend so i could be sure my little project will work before i went out and bought a new OS.
Questions;
#1; Is this feasible?
#2; How do you install the OS on a formatted hard drive?
#3; I was told to use a USB memory stick and copy the needed files onto it. Then use the USB stick for the install. How do i do this?
#4: Any other question i should have asked but was to ignorant to ask goes here. Please answer those to.
Thank You for your time!!
