Using a modern printer in MS DOS

We have a program that was written a while ago and runs through DOS. This wasnt a problem before as the old computers connected to the printers via a parallel port. However, the new Dell computers do not have a parallel port, meaning the computers have to be USB. The problem with this is that we cannot can the newer printers to print off the DOS program.

So basically, can we:
a) Buy a parallel to USB connector?
or
b) Get the newer USB printers to print from the DOS program?

Any help greatly appreciated.

upgrade your software....Is this like a POS system or what exactly is this older DOS program?

This problem has now been solved. Ive downloaded DOSPRN and it bridges DOS and the printer driver software, so we can use the new printers to print from the DOS based rotas program.

Cheers for the help.
