Using a Pc Monitor to run a ps2

Hi there i'm just wondering whether anyone knows whether i can plug my ps2 into my ati radeon 9000 graphics cards s-video socket and play my ps2 through my pc screen with software such as DScaler - if anyone could tell me if this would work and how good the quality would be and if there would be any lag that would be much appreciated. im pretty sure that s-video is an output port. but im sure they sell vga cords that allows u to plug it into ur monitor, i have one for my xb0x 360.
