Using front Bay for ventillation

I want to open up 2 of my front bays and superglue a metal mesh behind them for extra ventilation. My friend told me it may not be a good idea because the fans circulate air to the back ventilation, and this would disrupt that circulation. I thought that more openings meant better ventilation. Any comments would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It depends on whether you intend intake or exhaust. For seeing more cooler air drawn in take a look at the gaming style case with grills for 5 1/4" drive bay covers rather then solid plastic plates. This allows more air flow around the top of the case where heat often gets trapped. Venting allows the rear and even top case fans to pull the air in from the front as well as seeing warm air blown out.
