I have 2 HDD's from old computers that are no longer installed in the computer they came from. We would like to transfer all of the pictures and such to a new external HDD we got. It looked like the easiest way would be to use one of these: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=cat3&product_code=52887616 and transfer the data to our functioning computer, then to the new external drive.
I was told that since both of the old HDD's have an OS (Windows 98 on both if I recall correctly.)installed on them that there would be conflicts when the Drive tries to power up.
Is this true? If so, what is the best way to transfer the data that these drives comtain.
Please not TOO technical, as I am not a technician. I am hpoing there is a plug and play solution, but if not, please let me know what the best route would be.
Thanks,
Jason
