Using Laptop Screen?

Hi, is it possible to output from the video card of a desktop computer onto a laptop screen, instead of a standalone LCD screen? My desktop comp can output digital, audio, and I think S-video as well. My laptop has a female S-video, male & female analog video ports. I want to do this because my LCD monitor hasn’t shipped to my school dorm yet and a few pixels are starting to die off.
This question is hard to search on forums, but I hope someone can help.

You can modify a laptop screen to be used as a monitor, but you have to get additional VGA to LCD hardware and such to do so. All in all, it probably would be cheaper and easier to get an LCD.
