Using onboard LPT1????

That motherboard does not have a parallel port on it. So, you won't have a LPT1 port. Everything is USb now a days. In less one of the usb port will be a LPT1. And I don't see where you see a onboard lpt1 connection.

This the kinda thing that you are after. Unfortunately (unless you are Australian) I found it on eBay Australia.

Hope that helps, Doug.

You're right dug987654, it is there. But it doesn't show it in the specs. I haven't seen one those in years.
Good luck in finding one of those.

Thanks for the help. I was afraid there would be nothing really available to take advantage of the onboard LPT1 port. I wonder why they include it????

Anyway, I guess I will go with a PCI parallel port card.

You can also get a USB one as well. Just another option.

Doug.

One problem with using USB is that one main reason I need the parallel printer port is that my wife and I still use some DOS (Yes that's right, DOS!!!) programs and need to print from them. I don't believe a USB to parallel port would work in DOS, at least not the one's I've checked out.
