burn the iso to a cd and boot from it. no partitioning, reformatting, or installing. restart and remove the cd, back into windows like nothing ever happened.

Click the "new" button in VirtualBox and it wil guide you through the setup ov a new Virtual Machine. You will need to create a new Virtual HD. This is fairly simple, if you have any problems just say so.You will probably want no less than a 20GB Virtual HD. If you are using your main comp with 2GB of RAM you should probably give Ubuntu 512MB of RAM. When the wizard is finishe you should ajust the settings by clicking "settings" in VirtualBox. If you have a real Ubuntu boot CD then you can tell it to use your real CD drive. Otherwise, set it to use the ISO.
