Veiwing websites.. Where is everything????? PLEEEEAAASEEEEEE HELP?!!?!?

Every website I go to, the page doesn't load everything. The background is white and the table backgrounds are white as well. The borders look as if i was in safe mode. It loads some advertisements and images. For example, on my myspace, I can see my profile picture and all the other pictures but not my layout and icons etc. When I open Yahoo!, I can see the Yahoo! logo, all text and links (possible not in the right format), and some or all advertisements. Could this be a virus??? Or a missing add on, app, or SOMETHING??? I don't know much about computers but I dug through my internet options looking for any setting that was possible wrong, I tried every virus program, and tried to do a system restore twice, both unsuccessful. It said it "could not be complete". I looked in control panel, administrative tools and internet add-ons. I DESPERATELY need help!!!! Can anyone help me?? At least some input or advice???????

first off, what browser you are using? a lot of web designers only design with the latest browsers in mind, meaning if you are using an older version of internet explorer for example, you are SOL. download firefox (http://firefox.com) and try it with some of the websites you were having issues with. i am willing to bet it will fix your problem, but if it doesn't, give me some more information and we will start to eliminate as many variables as possible
