I am putting together a gaming rig and looked at some review sites and saw reviews for both:
--Intel Core i5-661 3.33 GHz 4M L3 Cache LGA1156
--AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad-Core
--Intel Core™ i5-750 2.66 GHz 8M L2 Cache LGA1156
But i have not seen them reviewed side by side.
The rig i am putting together would be equal in price for either cpu (with corresponding mb) so don't take into account price.

Which is better overall (oc, efficiency, etc)?
get as detailed as you want [please].
Thank you in advance for all your help:D

I dont know anythign about AMD really so I wont comment but...
I was under the impression that the i5-750 vs i5-661 was like the i7-920 vs i7-860. Anyhow, good luck. I'm sure someone will have better info than I do.

As far as the two i5 cpus, I would go with the i5 750 because its quad-core and the other one isn't. I read in a magazine that the i5 750 might be one of the best overclockers around so I purchased it and its pretty nice. I was able to overclock to 4.0GHz as a lot of people were able to do. And this is from a 2.66GHz clock!
