vertical mount dvd rw

i have an older dell gx260. it is the slimline desktop type. I am going to stand it up on its side to take up less space under the desk. are there any dvd rw drives that have the center spindle like a laptop drive to hold the disc in while opening and closing? thanks. in ireland, but uk is cool, heck, hong kong too

Have you tried using the drive while sideways? Most drives will work just fine in any orientation. Sometimes getting the disk to stay in while the tray closes is difficult, but once it's set, it normally is just fine.
