VERY annoying "ActiveX Control error"

Just recently this extremely annoying error popped up when I went on a few websites "click here to run an ActiveX control on this webpage!"

Please can somebody tell me how to get rid of it!!!!!!!

You should be able to safely remove this update, which is an optional software update and not a security one, and IE should revert to its previous state. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912945 for more info.

An update to that previous post, I believe Microsoft has now included it in a critical update, meaning automatic updates may decide to put it on your machine anyway. Sucks, don't it. :) Anyway you can read an article on the court decision here.
