Very confused, I bought an Emachines desktop that came with the upgrade cd to vista and I finally got around to fooling around with it today. To my surprise, I got upgraded to Vista Business even though the DVD says Vista Home Premium on it, anyone have that happen? I'll post a pic of it in a second once I get it hosted. Look forward to hearing everyone's take on this, pretty cool. Business is worth more than Premium correct?

The Business edition doesn't have the media centre but it does have business networking whereas it's the reverse with Home Premium. Ultimate has both of these features. Think of Home Premium as MCE and Business as Pro in XP terms.

I looked it up and realize that, I'm just more surprised at how the disk says right on it that it's Home Premium and I end up with Business on my computer. Not a big problem, I don't use media center/don't have any devices like that on this computer so I'm cool with not having it.

Is your serial number for business or anything?

LOL, maybe Gateway got confused. :p

That's what I was thinking, but it must be a microsoft issue or whoever makes the disks because if you look at the picture in the link I posted the DVD clearly reads Vista Home Premium. I wonder how many other ppl got "defective" disks. Think I should call Gateway and complain to get another Vista cd? :D
