Video Card compatible with Mandrake10.0?

Is a video card with the NVidia GeForceFX 5500 chipset compatible with Mandrae Linux 10.0? I am trying to install Mandrake, but after the screen comes up asking you if you want to press enter and install it, or if you want to press f1 for more options, then after I press enter, it says that the boot failed. I'm wondering if my VC is to blame... I don't have onbaord video either.

sounds like your boot disk is in bad shape. If boot failed it means the boot disk is bad.
