so the other day i was at frys and i saw this cool looking coper heatsink for video cards...now my current card has a decent fan but not copper. would it be worth it to change it to copper? like will there be a difference in performance? plus the kit comes with these ram coolers for the GPU... they are self adheasive little heatsink looking things...do those also make a difference?

copper is the best for heatsinks. and zalman makes great heatsink, so it is probably a good heatsink :D. the ram coolers might make a little difference but it probably won't be significant. overall it looks like a good buy. what card do you have?

Performance difference = No, not unless you OC your card

Your temps might drop a few degree's but, thats not going to make your card faster

Edit: What card is this for?

oops, forgot to mention that also. it might allow you to oc further if heat was a limiting factor. other than that it will not make your card faster.

um...i think i got a BFG geforce 6400 series card....not sure at school have to double check it's a 1gb card...so perhaps get the heat sink then i'll OC...never really thought about it but hey why not i got cheep parts :p if i fry it i'll build another com

nvidia 6400 is a VERY lowend card

You would be better off spending that $40 on a new card all together

For $40 you can probably get an ATI 4350 which will be far superior

+1. not worth the money to keep that card cool (if it even gets hot).
