Video Card Destroyed. Should I be concerned about the rest of my system?

Since I bought my computer, my video card was having all kinds of problems. Video distortion, random crashes, blue screens, etc. It seemed to get worse and worse until this morning I booted up my machine and saw a home fireworks display shooting from the back end my video card. I panicked and unplugged my machine, took out the video card and it was fried. Multiple sections blackened, several small metal pieces hanging off, reeked of burning. So there's no question this card is done for, but should I be concerned about my motherboard or power supply? The PSU was not the reason for the card's initial problems (I upgraded the PSU about a month ago due to heat problems, and my video card problems remained the same before and after) but is it likely that damage has been done to my PSU/Motherboard? Is there anything I can do to check? Unfortunately, I do not have a spare video card.

Was the fan on the graphics gunk-ed up with dust and is it still able to turn , Sounds like it overheated your early warnings would have been the BS-OD and instability

There was almost no dust in the fan. I've only had it for 2 months but it always seemed to be faulty. Never made alot of noise. I was always getting random driver crashes and the "nvlddmkm.sys" blue screen though

The fan turns perfectly. I did keep an eye on it alot and it was always turning when the card was on. My temperatures never usually went over 75 degrees celsius

Do you have onboard graphics ? or will you need to buy another graphics card to test , is there any scorch marks or noticable damage on the PCi-E slot

The PCI-E port looks fine. No visible damage anywhere except the video card. There is a scorch mark near the 6-pin power connector jack and a ruptured capacitor. Thats it so far

If there is a ruptured cap on the motherboard i would def replace the board , what are the rest of the caps like flat or buldging

The ruptured cap is on the video card. The motherboard has no visible damage. All the caps are good and flat. No scorch marks or anything. The video card is looking pretty bad though

All right, first we need to know what model of graphics card, how old it was, and make/model of your power supply.

Is there any visible scorch marks on any component? Around your graphics card, PCI slot, RAM, PSU, anything like that?

Did you by any chance use a generic/no-brand power supply? It sounds to me like the graphics card (what was it by the way?) was drawing too much power from the PSU and then eventually the PSU got overloaded and then wrecked your graphics card. If the PSU is no longer working as well I would get a new PSU and possibly a new motherboard as it may have damaged that too, as well as a new graphics card.
