My Radeon HD 6870 did well for the WW2 sim I enjoy playing. Unfortunately, it quit working Friday evening.

I need to make sure it is compatible with my system.
The card description states:
• 1024 Stream Processors
• 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5
• PCI Express 3.0
My motherboard, ASUS M4A785-M says it supports PCI Express 2.0. Is my motherboard compatible with the PCI Express 3.0 stated for the video card?
My processor is AMD Phenom 2 X4 965
4 GB memory
750w power supply
