OK, here is what I am wondering. Is directx software only, or does it have another affect on video cards? Here is why I ask. Vista is coming out in the next month or so. With it comes directx10. Does having a video card now that runs directx9 make any difference? Does it mean I will have to buy a directx10 video card?
I am building a PC, and a video card I thought was good for the price had a review from a guy saying,"Perfect tide-me-over card before DirectX10 bursts open the market for new cards." So it makes me hesitate on buying a video card if I have to buy a new one in a few months just to keep up to date.
Any thoughts?
Oh here is the video card I am talking about, dunno if it matters, but I thought I would post it just in case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150208
Thanks for any input on this.
