Video Card Fan stopped working..[PIC]

It's an AGP Ati Radeon 9800 PRO, about 3 years old. It still works fine...until of course it overheats due to the fan completely not spinning. I am wondering if there is any way I can simply put on a new fan, and where I may purchase such a fan. Also, if there is one, can someone tell me if there's any special precaution I should take when replacing the fan, or is it the same as replacing a cpu fan. Thanks.

That's not a standard fan. You might be able to rig something up, or replace the heatsink... But I don't think you'll find a perfect fan for it.

i ve heard ati has the worst customer service but eh never hurts to give them a call, maybe they can guide you to a solution.

frick, seriously?
so i can't just remove and replace with a vga cooler from like zalman?
will it still run cool if i put an 80mm fan next to the gpu?

You might have a hard time finding just a fan that will fit, but they make all kinds of aftermarket GPU coolers for a 9800.

Lol sorry to keep this thread going. My dad went and got me a zalman from fry's with an old gift card I had laying around....I simply put the video card in the freezer for 20 minutes, had the cement break off in a sinch, and put on the new one without any problems. Here's the one I got, I know I paid too much, it was around $25:

Same thing happened to my 7300gt just recently. I'm RMA'ing it into EVGA. It's still under warranty =P.

EVGA seems to be really cool about letting you mod your equipment a little bit. I would've bought an aftermarket and not RMA'd. EVGA will still normally replace your gear if they decide that your mod wasn't incompetent and it wasn't the cause for the failure.

It wasn't modded at all, stock cooling and everything. Might as well send it in, because they said they would replace it, and I don't think they make the DDR2 Memory version anymore just the GDDR2, so I might get an upgrade.
