Video card for Blu-ray burner?

I have the Sony BWU-100A burner.

Under the System requirements, it says. .

- A graphics card supporting UXGA(1600 x 1200) resolution computer display.

Ok, first of all, this doesn't make sense, because as far as I know, every Blu-ray movie has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Can anyone explain why the burners' manual says this?

And, second of all, which Video card should I get to fully enjoy the video quality of my Blu-ray burner?

P.S. I have a Optoma EP910 projector. It has a native resolution of 1400 x 1050, but has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. Also, Im planning to upgrade my projector to a native 1920 x 1080 projector soon, but for the immediate present, I just want to get the appropriate video/graphics card capable of producing the full video quality that the Blu-ray is capable of.

Can anyone tell me what features to consider when deciding on a video card? or which video card(s) will work? Obviously the less money I have to spend the better. Thank you for any help.
 
Radeon x1650XT.

But if you have an AGP slot, and on a low budget. A radeon 9800xt should be fine. (correct me if im wrong) What video card do you have now?
 
I dont know what video card I have?

At the moment I only have a Dell Optiplex computer. It is a P4, 2.8Ghz, which I asked about in another thread.

I typed in the video card model you told me, and I got a whole bunch at Newegg.com

They all say "Radeon x1659XT", Which is the right one?

When I type "radeon 9800xt", I only get 2 results for some kind of cooling device.

I just read what "AGP" is, and I'm guessing I have to open my computer up to see if I have that on the motherboard?

Aside from that, I can not correct you, if you might be wrong, because I have absolutely no idea, whatsoever about anything to do with these graphics/video cards.

I only glanced over the "Video Card 101" thread, but did not see anything specifically relating to Blu-ray. Most of it seemed applicable to gamers.

Is there any relation between the video card requirements for Blu-ray as there is for gamers? Perhaps that could help me better make the right decision. I'll start re-reading that 101 in detail now, but again I can't seem to figure out what is the right video card for this Blu-ray burner. Any further guidance is much hoped for.
 
Don't worry about the video card. I suspect whatever you have would work just fine. Unless you are trying to get native HD resolutions...but even so, I'd say an x1300, 7300, or some low end card like that would be just fine.

Well, Thanks for telling me that. I think Im going to just "test" this out on my Dell P4, 2.8Ghz system.

Hopefully, I wont damage my system, or rather my Blu-ray burner. It costs twice as much as my entire computer.

If by what you say. . "Unless you are trying to get native HD resolutions" means the full 1080 x 1920 resolution, then yes, of course, that is definitely what I want.

I know I said my projector only has a native res of 1400 x 1050, but I'm just working on the video card first. I dont want to get an insufficient video card, and then have to get another one later for a full 1080 x 1920 HD res projector.

Do you know if you have an AGP Or PCI-Express slot?

Alot of Dells only have PCI slots (not PCI-E)
If you only have PCI slots go with the radeon x1300pro (the fastest pci card)
The PCI versions are hard to find.

But if i remember correctly. The AGP slot is bigger than shown in the animated picture.
