video card for tv?

This may sound like a kind of stupid question, but I was wondering if there was a video card that I could get that would make my computer look good on my tv. It has a monitor input on the tv, but its a 57" LCD. I saw a setup at best buy where the computer was on a 42" and it looked really good, so I was just wondering. I'm in the market for a new card so I figured I'd ask now!

There is no special video card(well, not really...) for this, it's all in the TV. If your TV has a VGA or DVI input and your computer can support the native resolution of the TV, then you'll get the same results. Some GPU's can support HDTV resolutions, but may not show them in the standard windows resolution selection. You might have to check into advanced settings for more resolutions, or tell it to show HDTV resolutions.

Ok, well let me try to rephrase my question.
I'm looking at getting a new video card(s). I have a vga input on my 57" LCD TV. Is there a certain card I should look for if I was interested in using the 57" LCD TV as a monitor and not having it look like total garbage?

What I'm getting from your response:
I have to find the native resolution of the 57" LCD TV and then find a card that outputs that resolution?

Basically yes... I'd suspect basically any card today would work just fine. Again, Onboard might work fine, but I know even cheaper ATI or nVidia cards should support about any resolution you care to run...

The biggest problem with quality and LCDs is when you don't run at their native resolution, they WILL become quite blurry. So say your TV runs at 1080p, the video card will need support 1920x1080. However, you probably should also check what your TV's supports as inputs. I doubt it, but it might be limited to something rather low...

Before you purchase a new GPU, I'd test out whatever you have now and see how it works...

current video is an onboard card. It looks pretty blurry on the tv. I'm looking at upgrading the to something better for many reasons, one was to see if I could use the tv. I think its a 720p and supports 720p via the vga input.

I have component out, you know the green, blue, and red and my computer looks as good as a t.v. when I play movies and games look awesome too. I never really bother with the DVI. I have a 37 inch westinghouse lcd. A good video card and t.v. and you should be set. The quality has a lot to do with the output. I tried a normal s-video also from my comp and it looked like crap. Hope I helped, GL.
