When ever i go to play a game like assasin creed call of duty any of those, i get about 15 minuts of lag free gameplay, then suddenly something happens no idea what but gameplay just pretty much freezes with the exception of a very very slow progession of movement. Even when i go to the main menu moving the mouse is extremly painful and its only when i finally exit the game that everything goes back to normal. I'm assuming its my graphics card anyone have any ideas on whats going on? cose it sucks not being able to play any of my games haha

What are the temps like on that 4890 while your gaming??...it could be getting very toasty in there...do you have enough airflow?

Yeah, it sounds pretty much like a heat problem. Unless you have some kind of process coming up and dragging it down.

never had this issue before though airflow is good, how can i check the temps while playing?

It could be that inside the 4890 has got very dusty,I know mine did and after taking off the cooler, cleaning it out and re-applying some new Thermal paste it knocked a good 7-10c off the gpu temps.

MSI Afterburner will show your Gpu temps,You have to enable it in the options once installed it should show them.

NOTE-It may void any warranty you have though removing the cooler so be aware of this!

alrighty i downloaded that and tested it the temp only reaches about 66-67 when it freezes up these are normal temps under load aren't they? stays on about 56 when not really doing much. i took it out and took the cooler off, there wasn't a great amount of dust so dont think its that
