Video Card Help Help

Does the type of memory on my video card have to match the type of memory that I have in my computer. I have SDRAM in my computer so does my graphics card have to have SDRAM?

Nope, the only thing that you have to worry about with your graphics card compatibility is if it's AGP, PCI or PCI-Express. The type of RAM on the card just helps the card with the processing of the programs. Once you find out about the AGP, PCI, PCI-E issue, you need to find out whether it's a AGPx1, AGPx2, AGPx4, AGPx8 and so on and so forth. This also can be important, and I would GUESS that you have an AGPx4 board so you can either match that speed or go one level higher or lower and it should work ok... For instance, I have an AGPx4 slot on my mobo, and an AGPx8 card, works fine! Hope this helps...

thank you this did help very much. I looked on my mobo and I discovered i have 2 PCI-e slots, one is x16 and the other is x1. This was a complete shock to me, so i decided to go with the 660gt.
