Video Card Power?

The eVga 7900GS that I am eyeing has all the system requirements that I have except I got stumped on this one:

An available 6 pin PCI-E power connector (hard drive power dongle to PCI-E 6 pin adapter included with card)

What is this connector, where does it connect, and what does it do?

Thanks

The connector looks like this:

It connects to the back of the video card, and provides the additional power the card needs to run.

The adapter looks something like this:

It basically allows you to use peripheral connectors to power the card.

If you have a PCI-E power connector on the PSU, there's no need to worry. The 'hard drive power dongle to PCI-E 6 pin adapter' refers to the adapter pictured above. All it means is that if you don't have a PCI-E power connector, you need a free peripheral power (molex) connector, the type that plugs into a hard drive, to plug into the adapter.

I see in one of your previous posts you have/are getting an Ultra X2 550W. That PSU has a PCI-E power connector, so you don't need to use the adapter.

comes with the video card.
as long as you've got a pci-e slot and two extra power chords to connect into that converter you're good to go.
