Video Card Problem

I installed some new drivers on my ati raedeon x1300 but I think they were the wrong drivers. My screen went blank when I restarted my computer however, I could still see windows sartup screen.

I went into the bios and switched the video card from pci to onboard thinking it would use on board graphics so I can uninstall the drivers. Well I guess I was wrong because now I dont even see the startup screen its completely blank.
Please any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

First switch it back from onboard to pci and set PCI-E as the default display adapter in the bios if the X1300 is a PCI-E type card. Then press F8 to boot the system up in safe mode to see the ATI catalyst and drivers removed.

When installing any separate card on a board seeing onboard graphics the first step is always to disable the onboard. In safe mode you only see the basics for Windows load with the default vga drivers there and no catalyst. If you are running XP there look in the "C:\ATI\catalyst version #\driver" folder for the AtiCimun.exe file that should be seen there. That's the catalyst/driver removal tool.

Once you see all that removed go for an earlier version of the catalyst in case the one you installed was intended for a newer series of cards like 2xxx, 3xxx, or 4xxx series.

Thats exactly the information I was looking for. BUT like I said in my post I can't even enter my bios now its just a blank screen.
Im usually not hesitant to format but I have important documents for school on my C.

If you can't even get into the bios due to the change of settings the next step is simply popping the battery seen on the board out of it's holder for about a half of a minute and posssibly moving the cmos jumper(if required) over from pins 1+2 to 2+3 and then back for seeing the cmos cleared. That will return the board to the factory defaults and should then see a normal display again.

Now you will know enough not to make that mistake again if this works and you are not seeing another problem coming up. One question still needed here was is that the PCI-E or AGP version of the X1300 in use there? If AGP then the default setting would be pci/AGP set to AGP. For PCI-Express that would be pci/pci-e set to PCI-E.

Ok well I took another route and hooked up an old monitor using the vgi onboard cable. I changed the bios settings back to pci-e because I bought a new vid card. Now im back to square one.
It won't let me enter through safe mode, and when windows loads up its still a black screen. Whats going on? How does all this happen from installing the wrong drivers?!?
Please someone, help!
