Video Card Problem

Hi Guys,
I've got problems..!! and would like your assistance on what or why, my video card stops working...

Okay after installing my new video card Evga 240GT and drivers, and testing on lost of videos. This card stops working, Basically when I'm watching a movie the card stops working. This can happen at any time during video playback. And my system is then completely inoperable (Halts) the only way I can get the system to respond is by pulling the plug.

Can someone assist in the steps I need to take to identify the problem...?

OS: Windows 7 32bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte P35 - DS4
Bios F12
Cpu: 775 - Intel Quad Q8200
Ram: 4096 mb
Graphic card: Evga 240GT

Hi mate, Dose it matter if you go safe mode or not...????

any way i have tried your method (uninstall and reinstall new drivers)and now the fault occurs more frequently......:mad::mad::mad:

Any more ideas...........:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Hi mate,
if it's just the video card that stops working, there may be a heat issue... Does the entire system just turn off, or does it still run with no response? If you have another video card, try that... If it works fine, i'd say there would be a heat issue. try getting some application that measures system temps (CPU & GPU should be fine.)
for now, revert back to the driver you were using before that caused less halts.

Cheers buddy for you response,,

the fault completely stops the system it doesn't respond at all now at any time when video is playing,, leaving me with no other option but to pull the plug. The other video card i have is in my server system, It has issue and is difficult to set-up and get running so i would rather not try it.
I have used MSI afterburner app to monitor the card, with nothing unusual showing or abnormalities shown. I don't think its heat issues either as I have only just fired the system up and still faults:confused::confused::confused:
