Video Card Problem

Hi, I have a Gigabyte x700pro (GV-RX70P128D). The fan on the card has been making a very loud grinding noise on startup. The noise normally goes away after about 10 seconds after startup, and appears to spin fine after. If the noise doesnt go away on its own, i tilt the computer on its side untill it goes away. Sometimes when my computer is on normally, a slight noise will come and go. I was wondering about the risks of continueing to run this card with the fan sometimes making noises (If the fan failed would my card be ruined?). And also where could i get a replacement fan for this card?'

Thanks for your help:)

Well my x800GTO's fan spins very fast and makes alot of noise for the first 5 seconds or so, my guess is that it cant tell what the temp is so it spins as fast as it can.

You can get replacement fans on www.newegg.com

.

Ok, how do i find out what kinda of fan i have on it so i can order another fan that will fit? Im not sure:confused:

thanks

that happens to me too, when i boot up my comp, my x850pro spins at max rpm or a bit, then it goes to normal, and same w/ my fx5500. And also sometimes during normal operations, it would speed up, i guess its the dynamic fan speed thingy. And you can buy replacement fans at computer stores, but they won't be stock fans, they'll look different.

it probably has a temperature sensor. dont worry! if the fan failed you would have ample time to unplug your computer. the screen would start coming up with weird errors and crap... colors would start distorting before your card would be ruined. that how you make sure a video card overclock is good, you make sure no errors comes onto the screen.
example:

stuff like that happens, only it will be worse if it REALLY starts to overheat.

Well this is the second card i got, the first was returned bc i think the cooling device failed. The first time i used the first card, i noticed some small discolored dots on my screen twinkling. 5 minutes later there were more of them. after 30 minutes passes you couldnt tell what was on the screen. it was stuck like that. hope if this fan fails the same doesnt happen
