Video Card Problem

My laptop has a problem with its video card, well that's my opinion on it. when i close or open applications it leaves lines on the monitor, i have to restart the comp for them to go away. The laptop is a dell 9100 and the card is Radeon 9700 128mb. can anyone help? Thanks

Looks like its over heating to me, try keeping the vents clear when using it, and clean them out with a air can or something.

Also, are you overclocking it at all? Overclocking laptops are bad.

yea i try that ones a couple days ago. I used Atitool and i let it find the max
core, the regular core speed is 445 and memory is 263. I stopped the program when it gone up to 560 on the core, then i hit the back to default button and the core went back but it was less then before it set on 446.96 and the memory to 262.44 so i guess i messed it up a bit. Now i just keep the setting on 445.50 and 263.25. But the problem was before that
