Video card under $200

I'm trying to understand and get a Video card that is under $200. I like to play games like Rage but I'm not a real game player but need an undated video card. I took a look at the Gigabyte R9 270X but that thing takes up half my space in my computer case, it's just to big and I would like something a little smaller. All these Video cards are make by different companies with different prices so I'm not sure what the difference is when many companies make the same card but ask different prices.

It can definitely be overwhelming. There are tons of different options out there. I recently came across this article:

Once you pick the card you want than the brand just makes a difference in warranty, quality of fans, etc...
 
4 months ago I bought this card for a new computer that didn't work out so I want to go slowly and get this video card again and put it in a 6 year old Dual CPU computer and make sure it works good. Then start building my new computer and slip this card into it. I guess I'll just have to put up with a big card. But I guess that this might be my best buy for under $200? The one problem I see it has 3 fans which makes me a little nervous.

If it actually fits in the slot, why does it matter how big the card is? How much space do you have for a card? Also if you're putting it in a tiny case there's a good chance you've got a crap power supply unless it's been changed. What power supply do you have in there.

I have a good 650 and 750 power supply and I guess that the size just bugs me so I need to get over it and it does fit with about a third of an inch to spare. So I'm just looking for peoples opinion on the card and if it looks like a good one to get. Sort of like I need someone to pat me on the head and say it's ok that card is find. I'm pretty insecure.
 
If it fits go for it. Your dual core processor will probably hold it back a little bit but you mentioned you were going to build a better machine later, so that's fine. I assume the board has a PCI-E x16 2.0 slot?
 
I'm assuming you have a C2D or Pentium D, both of which will hold back the 270X a lot, even the highest end C2D. I reccomend building a new PC asap.
 
I have the E6550 which runs at 2.33 Gigs but once I get it running on that I will build the new system. The MSI itx runs from $64 to $250 so I'm lost on that. But I know the R9 270X will work and I hope that the Gigabyte is the right one to get for an i5 and I don't think I have a choice but to get the Z97 motherboard but what brand is the problem.
