video card underclocking

since i rarely play any games on my PC, will underclocking my video card with rivatuner reduce the power draw from the PSU? i noticed that with certain video cards, there is a minimum clock frequency that it needs to run.

Is this a question or a statement? Because if it is a question, don't bother doing it, I mean, it would reduce the temperature by a bit, but it still isn't worth it, what card are you running?

There's probably no point, the gpu's are throughly tested to stay stable at normal frequences, it might extend my the life of it but by the time it craps out it'll be 10 bucks somewhere. I still have an ooooooold as PCI geforce 5200 ive had for like 5 years and it's been slightly overclocked to see what it could do and for it to be "all that it can be"

is your power bill too high or something? underclocking the card is not worth it as it hardly uses any power on idle, it only uses its full potential of power when its under load. it wont really save any power
