Looking at the nvida quadro nvs 440x16 pci video card . Live in the boonies so a teck is hard to come by . usually have to try to muddle throug it my self. Can any one shed some insight on this card and specks I have given so far? Would that be enough ram ? Would I possibly have to up grade the power supply? Not a gaming computer , but still need fast refresh rates do lot of stock charts .If any one has any inpute I would deffinately appreciate it.ps if I posted in the wrong forum I appologize tell me which one to use Thanks again

That PSU isn't much, but neither is that GPU you're looking at... I doubt you'll notice much of a difference between that and what you have now. That card is from 2006 and I can't find any prices that are anywhere near to good. Anyway, that card requires a 350W PSU, and while yours MIGHT run it, it's probably not a good idea.

I've been looking around and that thing runs for about $500. You do realize that that is a workstation video card right? That would not be able to play many games, if any at that. It would be more worth your money to get a quality PSU and a GTX 200 series card to render the images. I have an 8800GT, which is far inferior to a GTX 280, and it runs all my CAD programs with no problem. A GTX 280 and a nice PSU would probably cost you $350.

Thanks ?

Appreciat your insight on the card yes I know it is a work station card. I need to run 4 monitors as I look at graphs and charts ie trading platform not gaming. any ideas on how I could do this with a cheeper card or something ? thanks again
