Video card with DVI-in

As I continue to go thru the learning process, I think I have concluded that I would be better off with a new videocard that has a DVI-in port so I can run my cable set-top box to my PC to finish my HTPC. Am I correct in ditching my plans for a tv tuner, since I mainly have interest in watching the channels that I pay for thru cable?

DVI in? I have never seen a capture card with this. I know a video card wouldn't unless it's some VIVO card(which that typcially refers to TV inputs)

Eh, ok.
Should I still be looking at capture cards primarily since I only have interest in hooking up my subscription cable and don't need to pull in free-to-air stations? Or is a tuner still better?

A VIVO card would be good, but they dont have DVI-inputs.

And are you saying that your cable has a DVI out port?

Yes, my cable has a DVI-out port.
It also has 2 small ports on the end of the box...not sure if hey are HDMI, I'll take a picture later.
