hey i am looking for a new AGP video card good for gaming. i currently have a x800xt pe AGP card. anyone have n e suggestions on a good one?

Get a cheap X1650Pro or 2600XT.
Don't worth to spend over $200 on AGP card IMO.

By the way, what spec have you got? Will it be better to change the Motherboard for the PCI-E card?

The Radeon 9550 x1050 is a very good AGP card. I have it in a gateway E-4100 and it plays Half-Life 2 at maximum settings and Doom 3 at Extreme Max Settings.

The x800XT is most likely better then the X1650.

The Radeon 9550 is extremely outdated, and how could you recommend him downgrading from an x800 to a 9550?

I just decided to buy a new pci-x motherboard. thx for the responses

Ha that makes it easier! :)

What mobo are you getting? are you going Intel or AMD?

Well either way, if you're on a budget, the best cards you can get for the money are the HD3870, 9600GT and the 8800GT. All three of them about the same, with prices changing in proportion with their performance. (I mean that you will get a good card for the money regardless of which one you pick) ;)

im getting a cheap abit pci-x intel motherboard. im on a tight budget so i just found something cheap for now and i also found a 7950 gt oc for $50 bucks. im mostly taking the parts from my comp now and just got the motherboard that was compatible with it all. ill eventually be upgrading the ddr400 to ddr2 533, and also a faster processor(i have a pentium d dual core 2.66 right now.) this is a site to the mobo im getting. not the greatest but its sumthin for now

You would usually find a DDR2 677 is cheaper than DDR2 533.
