im a noob to all this stuff can someone tell me how much it would cost for a good video card. cuz i need a new one to play pc games like counter strike and shit and i dont want the graphics to be all pixelated and shit.:)

First of all you would need to provide some info on the make and model board you are running on your system. That will determine the best advice depending on the type of video card the board runs. Are you running a newer PCI-Express type board or an older AGP 8x/4x type? The price on AGP cards has dropped largely with the newer PCI-E cards out for the new model boards.

what's your budget for this video card? Do you want to play any other games besides css, cause css isn't that demanding compared to other games out there.

hmm i dont know what the first guy said but for the second guy i am willing to sepdn maybe $70 and below for a good video card.

pc eye was asking if your motherboard has an agp slot or pci-express slot, which is VERY important. For 70 dollars you can't really buy that good of a card, you're somewhere around the 9600xt, 6600le, 6200, x1300 and 7300GS range.

Well a good PCI-E video card would be the 7600GS, you can get them for around $110, they can play new games on high-highest settings.

You first have to know what type of video card you can use on your system. Do you know the make and model of the system board you are running?

system board what is that motherboard? i have no idea do i have to open my computer to find out what it is or i can find it somewhere on my computer

Do you have a user's manual or model number for the system? Was this bought already assembled or did someone put it together for you?

x800 gto pci-e, i know about the pci-e stuff, but some will say nforce4 and stuff like that, and if it it says nforce4, you can't run ATI on it right

That should work quite well on the new board. Eventually you may want to move up to a better card if you are looking for higher performance however.
