PCI, AGP, and PCI-E are all different slots on your motherboard. PCI (X2) is the older standard for many cards, including very low end video cards. AGP (X4, X8) is the old standard for only video cards, which is being replaced by PCI-Express (X16). None of these are interchangeable, and PCI-E is the best.

ahh the brand new sparkley shiny clean mobo give it a few weeks it wont look so clean lol!
And there is also pci-e 1x, 4x and 8x. The 1x slots are really small, while the 4x slots are probably half the size of a regular pci slot, and the 8x is normally only found on older sli boards, where a pci-e 16x slots just loses half its bandwith in sli mode. They don't make pci- 4x video cards, but I believe they do have some 1x cards now. This is a good picture for pci-e slots. The top small yellow one is a 4x slot, the one below it is a 1x slot and the big yellow one is a 16x slot. No, PCI has half the bandwidth of AGP 1x, and there is no such thing as PCI 2x
There is PCI, AGP (1x,2x,4x,8x) and PCI-E (x16).
