Main goal is to play D3 with great graphics on my 52lcd hdtv, should i got with 1g middle class brand or a good 512mb ??

what name?brand ? numbers ?

thx alot !

Well, what your asking is an incredibly broad question. For starters the official required specs for Diablo 3 have not yet been released so there is no way of knowing for sure what is going to be needed for awesome gameplay. It also comes down to your budget. I mean, i could say go with two GTX280 XXX's in sli and you'd get awesome performance...if you dont mind parting with like $1000. So, you need to be more specific in what your asking. It also depends on what else is in your system.

im actually bulding a new system...
Ill prolly have something like dual 3.0ghz...
between 100-150$ i saw a 1g 1066mhz, is it good ?(8500gt super)
or im better with 512 but 1333mhz or else ??

oh...and with my "futur mb" if it supports PCI-16x, i should find a vid.card that is 16x for optimum performance right ??

A good 512 will almost always be better than a cheap 1g, since the 1g will still run slowly in most cases due to a restrictive memory bus, whereas a 512 good quality piece will give you more transistors, texture processors etc. which are the things that REALLY matter. Also, don't get a new card till you get a PCIe board, it would just be a waste and a let down imho. Also, make sure your power supply can handle it!

dun worry, i have no part (mb, cpu, ram) yet...im just planning on what to get or not to get...So i think that what takes more watt is the vid card...so i should by a PS that suit my vid card right ?

I think you're getting video memory and RAM mixed up here. 512MB is plenty for a graphics card (as I mentioned in your other thread), but you'd better off with at least 2GBs of RAM.

8500GT is NOT a good gaming card. It will handle 2+ years old games easily, and more recent games maybe at medium settings, but if you want a "real" gaming machine you'll need a better card, like Radeon 4850, or AT LEAST 8800GT/9600GT/Radeon 3870, but I'd recommend the 4850 (you may find a better deal on a similar-performing NVIDIA card but I'm not up-to-date with NVIDIA products so I can't recommend anything else)

mmm. the cheapest radeon 4850 ive seen was 300$...kinda twice i wanted to put in a video card...PLUS its ddr3 and im not sure i can use that...

cant wait to know if i can use ddr3 as vid card even if mobo only support ddr2...

Can i use VidCard that has ddr3 on it even if my mobo support only ddr2 ram ? Or its not the same thing and I can use ddr3 on vid card ?

That radeon is 300$ cheapest ive seen...kinda twice amount i wanted to make in vid card...
Plus its ddr3...so not sure i can use that kind of card yet...

YES! GDDR is just the type of memory the CARD uses to support itself. You can you any type of graphics memory from GDDR2-5, it has nothing to do with your motherboard

As mezna said, the type of video card memory and RAM on your motherboard have nothing to do with each other.

If you want a cheaprer card, maybe look for a 8800GT/9600GT or a Radeon 3870, those three are *about* equal performers, out of those it'd be best to pick the cheapest. Whare on earth are you buying from anyways? You can get a Radeon 4850 for $160 at Newegg... do you live in the US? If so, newegg is the way to go.
