Video Codec probs with my Desktop

Hey there again i kinda didn't ask the right question earlier, I was wondering if anyone knew of how to make my videocard display the shows i was watchin. Not on dvd's but in either avi or mpeg format and after downloading the newer drivers for my videocard i am still faced with the same problem the sound is good its just that the video isn't what it should be and i know the actual files are good because i tested the files on a seperate computer if anyone has some good advice on what to do here much appreciated...i am running for a media player..
Windows media player 10 version 10.00.00.3646 and
Divx player 6.1.1


any advice would be totally awesome
