I am planning to buy a laptop for video editing. I have a desktop right now, but im going to be moving a lot now. I want to go windows but if a mac is better than ill go that direction. I have around 1500 to spend (although i would like to spend around 900-1000). So what do you think i should get.

MacBook Pro. The 13" high model is available if your in dollars.

2.4GHz Core 2 Duo.
4GB 1066MHz
320GB 5400RPM
320M Graphics between dedicated and integrated graphics
10 Hour battery.
The reason there isn't a i5 is because if they went i5 they would have to put integrated intel graphics which is so not Pro.

10 hour battery with 50% brightness, wifi and text editing and web browsing without flash

MacBook Pro 15" First model is available in pounds

2.4GHz i5 Intel Processor.
4GB
320GB
Nvidia GeForce 330M + Intel Graphics extreme HD. Automatic switching. So if you launch final cut pro without a blink it uses the 330M. But if you go onto the web or check mail it uses the integrated graphics.

9 Hours on integrated and 8 Hours with dedicated graphics with 50% brightness, wifi and text editing and web browsing without flash

I would hate to go mac. Anything windows wise? And i could geta sony vaio core 2 duo (2.0ghz), 4gb of ram, 32o hdd, and a bluray for 500.

Ok. What app do you want to use on windows. Mac usually has the best video editing applications. Final Cut studio or semi-pro final cut express.
