Hi Peeps.
New on the forum. Was on afterdawn but its gone very quite on there.
Anyway, to the point.
Can anyone help me. I`m looking for some good easy to use video editing software. The freer the better.
Ive got windows 7 and believe it or not, dispite it being a great OS, it doesn`t come with movie maker:eek:
The project i want to do envolves taking sections of footage from motorsport DVD`s, adding them together and then adding a audio sound track of my choice that can be faded in and out as i like so i can highlight commentators and other sounds already on the DVD.
Ive found loads of freeware that will either convert the DVD into mp4 and loads of video editing software too, but all the video editing stuff wont work on MP4.
Is there any software that will let me rip a DVD to the hard drive without converting it that wil let me cut and edit it?

It's a shame they didn't include a new or the vista version of movie maker on 7. i quite enjoyed the vista one - more options to play with than the 2.6 version.

Another option would be a free version of Nero 7 essentials. I have several copies that came with my dvd burners. Sony Vegas is a great editing program with a multitude of creative features for a price of about $125 (last time I looked) Far superior sound and video editing features but there is a learning curve.
