Video Editing Software

I'm looking for some video editing software... I prefer free. It does not need to do much more than WMM... But when I imported my clip, I think it was too big of a file. 2 gigs on average, 6 tops. I need to cut out small clips and use transitions, but besides that, it can stay pretty simple.
 
He said he wants it to do a little more than WMM. Find some on download.com they might have a few free ones.
 
Most of the ones on download.com are for AVI. I can only record in Mpeg.

I found one that cuts... but I don't see anything for transitions.

D'oh! :(

Almost all decent video editing applications for Windows are going to cost something. The market is too big to not charge for a video related program.
